Please describe your position and what you enjoy most about it.

The Villages is one of the largest 55+ communities in the US. 在我的位置上, 我看到, 诊断, and treat patients to keep the residents of The Villages healthy and active. I love engaging my patients in their own healthcare. It is so rewarding watching people take their own steps to stay healthy and it’s an honor to help them out when they are sick.

What aspects of your HLGU experience helped you prepare for your career?

I didn’t realize how great of an education I received at HLGU until I engaged in one of the top ranked PA programs in the country and continually out-performed students from larger universities. HLGU also went above and beyond to shape me into the man I am today who is able to love and care for my patients. My Christian faith, which was solidified at HLGU, shapes every aspect of how I practice medicine.

我喜欢照顾病人, keeping them healthy and teaching them how to take charge of their own health.

HLGU是一种二合一的教育. Not only did I grow in my knowledge of science and the human body, but I also grew in my faith and my knowledge of God and his direction for my life. HLGU has taught me to love 其他s, show mercy, be generous and shine a light to those around me.

What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?

因信, 还有一个善解人意的妻子, I was able to move to 佛罗里达 and start PA school in a week’s notice. From there, I was able to graduate from the prestigious program in the top 10% of the class. 经历这一切, we were also able to stay active in our church by helping with small groups and leading worship.

Do you have any tips to share with students interested in this field?

I can say with absolute certainty that the education you receive at HLGU is equal if not above that of larger universities. Stay engaged in your education; smaller universities are able to individualize your learning if you’re willing to ask. Stay attentive, devote yourself to your education and believe in yourself. The healthcare field can be a rewarding future for those with a heart to serve.

你最喜欢的HLGU记忆是什么?

Most of my favorite memories at HLGU come from activities out in the community. 汉尼拔 is an amazing city with a lot of amazing people. I encourage all student to engage in their community and get to know the city of 汉尼拔.

What on-campus activities were you involved in at HLGU?

Track and Field, Cross 国家, Fellowship of Christian Athletes
